How to Start A Successful YouTube Channel With Less Than 1000 Subscribers

Starting a channel on YouTube is the easy part, but being successful is another thing. Many people define success on YouTube as having thousands of subscribers and making four figures or more. I define success as being able to make a side income or getting other opportunities outside of YouTube.

Start A Successful YouTube Channel

Imagine getting a sponsored offer because someone found your channel and liked your personality.

When most people think about making money on YouTube, they think about ads. The reality is ads are not the best way to make money on YouTube.  YouTube ads are just a small portion of revenue for some of the most successful YouTubers.

In this post, I’m going to be sharing with you how you can start a successful YouTube channel with less than 1000 subscribers.

The first thing you need to understand is the number of subscribers you have does not necessarily have an impact on how much you make. You can have 5000 subscribers and earn less than someone with only 500 subscribers.

  • What’s The Point Of Subscribers?

The number of subscribers you have can get you accepted into revenue programs or sponsored Networks. To get accepted into the YouTube partner program, you need to have at least 1,000 subscribers and 4000 hours of combined watch time.

How Much Does YouTube Pay Per View

The amount that YouTube pays per view depends on several factors, like watch time, quality of content, niche, and popularity. The average pay is $2 per thousand views, while others earn upwards of $5 per thousand views. As you can see, based on this rate, it would take you thousands of views to be able to make a substantial income.

    Why I Started My Channel

youtube channel ideas, side hustle ideas

I started my channel over a year ago because I wanted to share information with people looking to make extra money from the comfort of their homes. The videos that I posted averaged three to five minutes, and I used screen capture software.

Deciding not to show my face on camera helped me to stay consistent in posting videos. It took me years to start my channel because it seemed too much work and effort. Thinking of editing was scary because editing can take hours, and being a perfectionist makes it even worst.

The way I do my videos now, I never have to worry about editing because my goal is not to be perfect but to share my knowledge with others. Being a perfectionist can really stop you from success. I find that I get more done when I just stop overthinking everything.

I was thankful that my videos were watched and appreciated, to even get paid in the first place. I also signed up over a hundred people in two different programs based on my videos; these were affiliate programs.

A few companies reach out to me regarding a sponsored video, and this was all with less than a thousand subscribers. This, to me, was amazing because I thought I had to have at least 10,000 subscribers for anyone to be interested in working with me or even being able to make extra income outside of the YouTube Revenue program.

I was like, “One person cared enough about what I had to say.”

My videos are all produced with pieces of equipment I already had. I even have videos where the audio was so horrible, but I did not stop posting.
